Our sandsultant, Pants, writes in again! Check out her blog as she quests for the best sandwiches in DC.
I recently found myself in the lovely, peaceful neighborhood of the Palisades, in Northwest DC. I was really excited when my hunger started to notify me that it was lunchtime, and I remembered that one of my favorite sandwich shops was literally right around the corner.
Jetties is a cozy DC establishment, with a quaint atmosphere and the special added touch of a retro ice cream counter. When you walk in, you immediately feel comfortable, and to order, you fill out a form with either Made-to-Order selections of your choosing, or a sandwich/salad/soup from the chalkboard list.
After some tough decision-making, I chose the Cisco from the chalkboard, and I was not disappointed. This mouthwatering, hot ham-and-cheese features gooey, melted swiss cheese, sweet caramelized onions, and honey dijon mustard (with a no-joke kick), all between crispy, fresh sourdough toast. To me, Jetties sandwiches are true comfort food, and I can’t wait to go back.
To my friends who work downtown: brace yourselves- a new location on Eye St. will open soon!

This looks great!
